The sweetest love story professed on the sand.  Foaming waves melodic and constant, the soundtrack for a day that will forever be written on their hearts. Surrounded by their families and closest friends, they exchanged vows all their own, lost in a love soaked sea of their own making.

It was a dream and an honor to photograph this truly special day. Congratulations Emma + Nick!

Kindness. It’s a word tossed around like a colorful beach ball, bouncing around with minimal effort, falling to the sand when interest is lost. But it’s importance is grand. Our lives are full of trials, hearts are filled with weary thoughts, and true kindness wrapped like a bandage around the heartache of another can take away the sting, even if only for a glimmer of a moment. I think it’s the reason we all experience those hard bits, so that we can recognize them in another. We can feel that hurt and share in the pain by offering all the kindness we can muster. At least it’s what I tell myself. On days when I’m looking for reasons and answers, this is what I come up with; to create kindness, and grace, and understanding, to spread it thick, and let it multiply like fluffy rabbits.

I met her four years ago when she graciously agreed to skype mentor me when I was in my first year of pursuing photography. She was — is the epitome of kindness; incredibly encouraging and I knew instantly she would be a source of support and inspiration in many ways for the years to come. When you mention her name it is met with resounding responses that include descriptions like “she’s the best. She’s a gem. Isn’t she wonderful?” All accurate praise for this friend of mine Jalene Taylor… An incredible talent, beautiful heart, and kindest soul. What an honor to photograph her with her family while in Utah last month.

Full arms, joyful hearts, wholly and truly enveloped by the Son.
I just adore this beautiful family surrounded by those beams of love and light, and I can’t wait to meet their second sweet boy this fall!
